short film nominated for EFA awards in SARAJEVO

SHORT FILM NOMINATIONS FROM  SARAJEVO

Three more short films have been nominated for the European Film Awards:

In KTHIMI (The Return) by Blerta Zeqiri (Kosovo), nominated at the Sarajevo Film Festival, a young man, arrested at random during the war in Kosovo and thought dead, returns home from a Serb prison looking for a way back into his life of four years earlier. But the war has touched more than he may know and explanations come hard.
The jury members were Arta Dobroshi, actriz, Javier Martín-Domínguez, screenwriter and director from Spain, and Elena Giuffrida, Trieste Film Festival director

At the Norwegian Short Film Festival in Grimstad, SILENT (Sessiz-Bé deng) by L. Rezan Yesilbas (Turkey) received a nomination. “A film which has at its center an intriguing metaphor for human relationships,” the jury statement reads, “and which finds the universal within the particular as powerful moments of intimacy are brought to life with stunning cinematography.”

“For its stylistic coherence in the introduction of genre elements in a work about youth: its vitality and its self-awareness,” the jury at the Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival nominated MANHÃ DE SANTO ANTÓNIO(Morning of Saint Anthony’s Day) by João Pedro Rodrigues (Portugal), a film that deals with the traditions of St. Anthony’s Day in Lisbon.
